Camping, Hiking, And The Family Cabin: Willis Creek

We had the best time camping and playing at Willis Creek.  This property has been in the family for generations.  It is so gorgeous there.  The kids got to kayak, swim, go on the zip line, the slide, and the rope swing.  Most of all, we just really enjoyed hanging out with the family.

These two are best cousins and inseparable.  They had a lot of fun together!

Jason kept sneaking fruit snacks to Quinton...trying to claim his place as the favorite uncle.

Mikey's "wizard" stick...it definitely looks like one.

There is never a short supply of uncles for the kids to tease.

Little boy after my own heart!  He found the good stuff...I'm only sad that he would share with his momma.

Sometimes those carbonation bubbles are a little too much to handle.

Aunt Deanne made sure she made things fun for the kids...she brought lots of fun activities and was showing the boys a bug.

Catching Lizards was a favorite past time...not like we do this in our backyard everyday, but everything is more fun with cousins.

Grandpa got to show us all around where he grew up.

I heard about Michael growing up playing in the "wash" over 100 times and I finally got to see it with my own eyes.  Yup...it looked like a little boy's dream come true.

That grandpa was delighted to share his history with his posterity.  His face would light up as he would recall he favorite memories of growing up here.

Doesn't this little guy just scream tourist?  He was an avid hiker and was loving exploring everything!

Great grandpa's church...it would have been fun to see what it looked like back in the day.

We got to visit where Michael's grandparents are buried and pay our respects.

Afterwards we hit the park and tried to see how many kids we could fit on the merry-go-round.  I think we might have hit a record.

These two cousins love each other...They are always poking each other, sitting on each other, and hugging each other.  Quinton was trying to share his water with his favorite cousin.

This trip was a lot of first for Quinton..his first fruit snacks, his first sip of pop and now his first Popsicle.  He refused to hold the stick, so his hands got so cold they started to hurt...which made him cry...so I took the Popsicle away from him...which made him cry even harder.  He didn't understand that it was the Popsicle making his hands hurt. Lol.  Not a good first time experience.

Wow!  These kids played and played in the dirt....they were so dirty...Mikey looks like a completey different race he is so dirty. Lol.  They had so much fun and we loved how they would just go wherever they wanted with their cousins.

We hiked the narrows and the bathtubs near our property...It was so beautiful!

Playing in the stream at the beginning of the narrows.

This part is called the bathtubs...Micheal's ancestors would climb down there to get all cleaned up during the summer...it was pretty exciting to walk where they once walked!

Mikey coming out of the bathtubs.

At the beginning of the bathtubs with my Jay.

Yeah, this didn't last for very long...that little wouldn't have it...he wanted to get down to explore and ya know suck on a few rocks before throwing them into the water.

I don't know...I kinda think that this little guy had the most fun!  He is so obsessed with being outside..he finally got his wish during this trip.  I love this little man so much!  I have some cute babies!

Trying to skip on the rocks on the trail.

It was so gorgeous there!

All the grands with grandma and grandpa...one Ginormous bunch!

Playing on the lower pond at the cabin with cousins.

Ok...this is definately the highlight of the trip...playing in the ponds by the cabin.

Mikey was in heaven here!  It was so fun!  We feel very blessed to be able to have a beautiful place like this to go to.

Umm...gorgeous!  He had to wear a floaty at ALL times because this little guy is not afraid of the water.  Several times we watched him stand up and jump right in the water...no fear.

Lots of cousin love going around...we have the best cousins!

More cousins on the paddle boat off to catch some crawdads.

He found the mud pit and he STAYED in that mud pit for a good hour.

Oh yes!  The rope swing was a blast!  Even Kellan went on it, although the letting go part was a little too much for him.  I think Jayla went on it 30 times and showed no fear.

Yup...I even went on that thing...I have to admit it was a little intimidating standing on top of the platform.

I finally convinced Mikey to go down the slide with me...nobody has a problem at Seven Peaks, but for some reason the pond was a little more intimidating.

This girl is all about the action!  Girl after my own heart.  I love her adventurous spirit!  It makes for some good times.  I think she will be my partner in crime as she gets older.

This girl wouldn't go down with anyone except for Aunt Jamie

The zipline wasn't as scary as the rope swing, but it was still a blast!

This boy was so tired.  He jumped in the water to get to his momma.  I loved it!

I don't know what it is, but these two have a special bond!  She is always hugging her grandpa.

Aunt Jamie is the best!  Quinton had to be like one of the big kids and roast his marshmallows too.

I'm thinking that the S'mores were a big hit.

This boy was obsessed with catching crawdads.  Whenever we couldn't find Mikey, we knew right where to look.
