The Quarantine: The good, the bad, and the cute

Our first day of Quarantine was March 14th.  Home school began on the 16th.  It was awful having 4 children to one computer.  We got done with school by 7pm that night.  By Thursday afternoon we finally had enough devices for everyone.  The kids miss their friends, but have been having to play with just each other and it has improved their relationships a lot!  They have been having fun.  Jayla threw a St. Patricks Day party and a few movie parties.

We have had a ton of movie nights at home.

Soccer practice at home!

The kids have learned some new cooking skills.  Jayla has really gotten good at cooking and cook a few meals by herself.

Sometimes Quarantine is just too much.

We have been going for walks a lot, hence the major road rash.

Quarantine haircuts looks perfect because we have the best barber around..and the cheapest.

We have been enjoying nature because that's really the only thing that we can do.

Dad has been trying to do some home improvement projects with lots of little helpers.

Family game night.  The kids won.

The kids discovered my secret....that I have a T.V. above my bathtub, so they have been taking a lot of baths together ad watching shows.

The Lemon Pepper Challenge.  Quinton dumped on the Lemon Pepper on his spinach and each kid had to try it...every kid except for Kellan of course!

Home schooling presented new challenges and all the kids missed their teachers and friends.  I missed my routine, but it was fun having the kids home.  Not having the ipads, or assignments work or having to do pointless assignments became mundane and often frustrating.  We focused on their weaknesses and I saw great improvement with their home school experience.  I can see how they would get more learning out of home schooling, but it wouldn't be without a fight trying to get it done.  So glad we are done with this!!!

Lucas thinks he is home schooling too!

This lover boy has his sisters right where he wants them.

Riding bikes up Hobbs Creek reservoir and the boys discovering that sticks are the best things in the world.

Visiting grandmas house only because grandma and grandpa were gone.  So sad!  Jayla was trying to watch a movie at Grandmas house.  She said, "Theres a thing downstairs that looks like this thing only bigger.  What do I put it in? (Trying to describe a VHS and not knowing what a VCR or DVD player is.) and she didn't know what that "thing" that she is holding in her hands is called.  This was the best.  Isn't she cute in her glasses!?

We are really starting to love home church.  We get to listen to some pretty amazing talks and the kids are getting good at writing them.  I think we are going to move on to having them prepare a lesson next!  And they don't always fold their arms for home church.

All the parks are closed so we have had to be creative in our dates with the kids.

Mom can we go to St. George? A.K.A. Curious George

I started my own gym before I had to close it down due to my herniated disc.

Jayla has been throwing parties once a week and they don't disappoint.

What would quarantine be without Krispy Kremes and home made stitches.

He was scared of real stitches so we did mom stitches and you can hardly see the scar!
