Disneyland

Kellan went missing a few days before our trip to Disneyland.  Finally we found him in the car with a guilty grin on his face.  He told me, "I want to go to Disneyland."  Even though he didn't know what it was yet somehow he got the impression that it was a really fun place.

We stopped at a gas station during our trip to California and there were a bunch of Disney stuffed animals on display.  Kellan asks Michael, "Is this Disneyland?"  Michael says, "No." Then Kellan replied, "Yes it is!" He was excited!

This is us arriving at Disneyland for the very first few minutes.  I always wanted a picture right here.  The kids were so excited it was hard getting them to pose for the picture, but they all turned out looking good. And those are not fake smiles!  These kids were so excited!

The kids really loved the Tarzan Tree house.  We took turns taking the bigger kids on Indiana Jones while the little ones played in the tree house.  We had to beg Jessa to go on the Indian Jones ride and she finally gave in and went with us as long as she could sit by grandma.  She would only go once, but at least she went.  Jayla would have gone as many times as we could.

Mikey saying,"Yo ho, hoist the sails!"  The little boys LOVED Pirates of the Caribbean because they are totally into The Neverland Pirates.  That was a fun ride because we could also just hang out together.

Kellan was trying with all of him strength to make the rope twist like the big boys.  Then he tried climbing the rope.  He had just as much fun with the rope as he did with the rides.

Tigger was a hit.  It was fun how Jessa, Mikey, and Kellan got so excited about the characters.  Jayla was to mature for them already.  She realizes now that the characters are just regular people dressed up, including the princesses.  Our little Jayla is growing up too fast!

My mom wanted a picture with me and Tigger.  She used to say that I would bounce everywhere I went and she called me Tigger.

This was the best.  Mikey wanted to go hug the 'Polar Bear.'  I guess we need to watch Winnie the Pooh.

Us riding the Little Mermaid ride.  Jessa and Joshua LOVED this ride.  It was their favorite.  We went on the ride many times.

Riding the train.  It was a good chance for us to sit and chill out for awhile.

Sometimes the wait in line became too much for the litle ones, but for the most part the lines weren't bad at all.  We did need to get creative a few times, but my four kids are really good kids.

Waiting in line once again.

Waiting in line was not fun for Jessa this time...as you can tell by her facial expression.

Kellan became a daddy's boy.  Michael kept leaving to go get Fast Passes and it must have traumatized him because he wouldn't leave daddy's side and he wanted Michael to hold him.

We were lucky enough to have my sister and her family along, including my mom!  That made things way more fun and we were able to swap babysitters.  The kids loved having their cousin Joshy around to play with.

This was another favorite ride!  You got to shoot targets and even Kellan was tall enough to go on this one! We rode this one several times too!

So we went all the way to Disneyland and the carousel was one of Kellan's favorite rides!  The best part about it was that the line was always really short, so we would ride it over and over.

Waiting for the light show to start at Disneyland.  We had so much fun!

At the end of the day every kid would catch a ride on the Michael express.  We would usually put 3 kids in the stroller with the other one on daddy's shoulders, then we would walk the mile to our hotel.  Needless to say Michael walked about 14 miles each day during the three days at Disneyland.  This will be one of the memories that sticks out for me.

We were so lucky to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  We saw them one night as we were on our way home.

Kellan said he wanted to meet Goofy.  We were so glad that we bumped into him.  Kellan was thrilled and he even got a pat on the head!  It made Kellan's day!  It was really cute.

While the big kids were going on rides we had to entertain ourselves somehow.  Its a good thing that we had Josh and Kellan to fill that role for us.

The girls really liked having Aunt Brittany here to go on rides with them. They had a lot of fun with her.

I took cousin Josh and Kellan over the meet Mator.  I think they were a little nervous about the whole thing, but later they were excited about it.lol

So we lost Jayla at Disneyland for a VERY long 10 minutes.  It felt more like an hour.  We were all praying and we all felt oddly calm about the whole thing.  It wasn't long before Dad found her.  She was very resourceful and found a mom.  She then used the mom's phone to call me, which nobody heard in all the noise.  The mom then took Jayla to a worker and that was when dad found her.  From then on we were all so paranoid that we were going to lose someone and Jayla stuck to us like glue.  I'm sure kids get lost all the time at Disneyland, but it was no fun having it be your own.  I'm so grateful she was safe and smart enough to know what to do.  We were pretty proud of her.

The kids were so exhausted waiting for the parade to start, but we were glad that we waited for it.  The kids really enjoyed it once it started and even got some giggles out of the boys.  Jessa had to wave to all the characters and every once in a while I could catch Jayla doing it too even though she tried to be discrete about it.

The kids loved the parade!  It was some good memories.

The boys were in heaven with this rocket ride.  Their favorite show right now is Little Einsteins and the characters ride a rocket ship.

This was a favorite ride for everyone!  We had so much fun shooting the targets in this one.  I think we went on it 4 times.

The submarine was always a ride I wanted to go on and I have never been able to go.  It seems like it was always closed, so this time I got to go on it for the first time with all these sweet people.

Jessa was dying to see the castle.  I think she was disappointed with it.  I totally remember being disappointed with it too as a kid because it wasn't a real castle.  I think we both imagined it being different and that you would be able to go inside lots of different rooms and things.

Michael made me ride the tea cups with the kids.  I survived and the kids didn't even know about the center wheel thank goodness.  I kept that one a secret.

Playing at the playground in Toon Town.  Kellan would block the entrance to the slide and ask, "Whats the pirate password."  Not everyone was a fan of that!  But it was hilarious.

Splash Mountain was one of our favorite rides!  It was so fun and the kids kept wanting to go on it again and again.  The lines were not very long so we went 4 or 5 times on this one.  I love the pictures.

This was on California Screaming. Jayla made us go on it 3 times in a row.  This was one of her favorite rides by far.

Thunder Mountain was another favorite.  We went on this one 3 times in a row as well.  It was perfect for the kids!

We loved meeting all the characters!  I was actually surprised with how much the kids all loved this part of it all!

Jessa was really wanting to see the princesses.  The boys were really excited too and Jayla was a little bit excited because she now knows that the princesses are just regular people dressed up. She was however, excited to meet Elsa and Anna.

At first the boys were really shy, but by the end they were hugging the princesses and getting right up next to them.

I think that I was the most excited to meet princess Tiana.  Last time we were there she wasn't being shown.  We were so sad.
