BUSY WEEK

My parents came to visit us this past week. We were busy having a lot of FUN. We were so excited to have them here and to show them around our stomping grounds to for them to see our new house. We love them so much and we had a blast. My girls cried when they left. It was too short of a visit.

Petroglyph National Monument

We took my parents on this hike not far from our house to see some awesome petroglyphs. I was in heaven. I love learning about ancient civilizations and cultures. We had a blast and the girls were so proud of themselves that they hiked all that distance by themselves. And yes it wasn't windy at all!

We hiked to the very top of this mountain. Even Jessa did great. She wanted to do it herself and she could hold her own. She kept picking up rocks to take home...she is an avid rock collector, and Jayla wanted to go on hike after hike. She loved it! Behind us is what is left of a dwelling made out of stone. Analysts think it was used for either religious or hunting purposes. So cool.

Explora Children's Museum

This is our favorite museum. We have a season pass and we use it often. There are so many fun things that the kids actually get to play with.

The bubbles are a favorite of ours and we usually spend a good part of the time at the bubbles. The girls have so much fun! We need one of these in our back yard.

The ZOO

Jayla and Jessa had been wanting to go to the zoo all week, but it had been too cold. We finally made it when it was sunny for one day. The girls were brave enough to let us get a picture on the lioness. For the past year they both had been too scared to even get near the thing, but they finally did it!

Oh yes, and for the first time we were able to see the polar bear. Usually he is just sleeping, but this time he was playing around in the water and actually awake.

My babies enjoying the show. It is so fun how they get so excited about everything and ask a million questions that I don't always know the answer to. I love it!

Jayla loves the Flamingos because they are pink...and this time they were all really active too. They were squawking and flapping their wings the whole time. It was a good day to go to the zoo because all the animals were so active.

Oh yes...and we went to the park...a lot.

Grandma and Jayla having some bonding time.

My little Jessa is such the cuddle bug. Grandpa was just reading so she decided to crawl up to him and snuggle in. So cute.

Jessa even got grandpa to play cats and dogs with her. One of her favorite pretend games ever! No wonder why they were so sad to have them go.
