Memorial Weekend

Overnight Getaway

We drove to Utah and dropped the kids off at Michael's house, so we could spend some time together just the two of us.  We went to a spa and decided to visit Snow College where we dated over the course of 2 years.

This was where we first met at the first dance of the year.  It was fun visiting our old stomping grounds again and reminiscing.

Glad to see that after 12 years they still have all the same posters hanging on the walls.

I walked down this hall so many times going to my science classes.  Such good memories!

This is where I lived, Carol's Cottage.  It has since become the home to a family.  I had to hurry and get a picture before anyone came out thinking I was a creepy stalker.

The good old bell tower...where they had a tradition that you had to kiss under it at midnight.

We went to the Snow Dragon.  We used to go there all the time.  They have the cheapest lunch specials and nothing had changed at all, not even the prices.

This is where Michael lived while he went to Snow College...good times!

We even took in a session at the Manti temple.  We remember walking around the temple grounds and it is still one of Michael's favorite temples because he went there often while going to Snow College.

It was really fun walking down memory lane and being able to spend some much needed time together alone.  I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband and he is so good to our children.  Thanks goodness we found each other!

Jayla's Birthday

Jayla had a pre-birthday cake since we didn't celebrate her birthday on her actual birthday.  She thought that was pretty cool because it got to be her birthday for 2 days.

It was hillarious...Jessa put on uncle Jason's HUGE boots.  They couldn't even walk in them they were so incredibly big.

Jayla had a lot of fun opening all of her presents.  She was pretty excited to play with them all.

The Beach

After presents we went and played at the beach on the river.  Despite the cold water all 3 kids were pretty brave and LOVED the water and the sand.

And of course there had to be some unsuspecting brother who got dunked in the cold water.

The girls were really brave just to walk out in the cold water.  They had a lot more fun than we thought they would.

Jayla had fun trying to get Kurt all wet.

Then daddy threatened the girls and pretended like he was going to throw them in the river.

Jayla's Birthmom and Birthfamily were able to come celebrate the day with us.  We were sooo glad that they were able to come!  We love them!

We put Kellan in the sand and he refused to put his hands in it.  He held them on his lap and kept trying to stand up without using them.  Finally he gave up and started scooting on his bum.  He is so funny.

The part that Kells liked the most was walking along the beach with the water washing over his feet.  He would walk up and down and we all had to take turns helping him.

I love these handsome boys!  They are so cute together!

Kellan was starting to get brave and refused to hold my hand while walking along the beach.  It was pretty fun to see how brave he was.

Some more fun moments on the beach....

Birthday Cake

Jayla got a real camera for her birthday and we found these beauties on the camera, so I had to share them.

And we find out that Jessa and Jayla sneaked into our car to take their first selfies.

Future selfie experts.  They crack me up!
