Halloween Party

We were able to attend a Halloween party with some of Jayla's friends. A big thanks so all of the creative moms who made games for the kids to play. Jayla had so much fun! She was a little curious as to why everyone was dressed so funny. She looked so beautiful in her princess dress!

We turned on some music and the kids went crazy! Jayla loved dancing with all of the other kids. This was her favorite part. She really got into it running around, screaming and giggling. She was really cute.

She didn't understand why Isaac was dressed so funny. She kept staring at him and pointing to his ears. She was wondering why he looked so much like a monkey. She would point at him and then she would make a monkey noise. What a cutie!!!

She also loved "Pumkin Bowling." Although the womanly instincts kicked in and she was more interested in setting up the pins correctly than trying to destroy them like all of the boys. She did a pretty good job setting them up each time...I have to admit.

Here we are trying to do more Halloween songs. All the kids are supposed to be flying around like a bat.

There was also a corner for the kids to color Halloween pictures. That held Jayla's attention for about a full 5 seconds and then she was on to the next thing. There was just so much to see and do. She really had a blast.

Soccer

We went to a soccer game the other night. It was great. We all really got into it! Jayla would clap and cheer at all the right moments. She would join in whenever there was a group of people cheering for our team. Between all of that she would flirt with the little boys who were sitting next to us. (I'm okay with her doing that as long as she grows out of it by 3rd grade.)

Jayla LOVED Cosmo. She would always ask, "Where is he?" She would search the whole stadium until she found him. Although, she only seemed to like him if he was at a distance. In this picture Cosmo was holding up his finger for #1.

Notice how Jayla is trying to copy Cosmo by holding up 1 finger.

Jayla and Daddy

We bought Jayla some new winter pajamas. Every time we put them on her she would say, "shoes," and run to the door and say "outside." She was so confused that we would put shoes on her and then send her to bed. It was so funny! She was so disappointed.

Here Michael is playing with Jayla right before bed so that she will forget about going outside. It is always hard for us to put her to bed because she gets so hyper when she is tired and all we want to do is play with her.

Locks of Love

I finally chopped my hair. This is the shortest it has ever been! We cut off 10 whole inches so I thought that I would donate it to Locks of Love. Jayla noticed right away that my hair was different. She pointed to my hair and exclaimed, "Mama!" Then she reached out and started playing with it...then she made Michael touch it. She then felt her own hair and tried to grab some...what little that she has. She has been playing with it ever since. She is a girl for sure to notice that I cut my hair.

Jayla and her Baby

The other day Jayla kept putting her baby in her princess car and driving her around the whole house. I was so impressed because she would gently place her baby in the car and make sure that she was sitting up properly. Jayla figured out that her baby would fall off the car unless she put the baby in the compartment under the seat. It is fun seeing her start to use her imagination.

Cherubs

Once a week we get together with a bunch of other moms and their kids. We sing songs, play with instruments, dance, listen to stories, learn things like colors and shapes, and have snack time. Jayla loves it! There are kids of all ages for her to play with.

Jayla is the only one that isn't sitting down. She is too much of a busy body to sit down for one minute like all of the other kids.

Jayla playing with her tambourine... her favorite instrument.

Halloween Fun

While Jayla was at home playing with grandma, Michael and I went on a date with my sister and her husband to a haunted house. It was Michael's first one!! I know, I was surprised as well. It was great... Michael kept trying to scare me the whole time and he made sure that all the "actors" paid very close attention to me. Thanks a lot Michael! We had some good laughs of our own as we saw the group behind us run the whole way because they were so scared of the "chainsaw man."

The Zoo

We took Jayla to the zoo for the very first time. It was so much fun. We aren't sure who had more fun... Jayla or us. Jayla loves animals. It was fun to take her because she can now recognize the animals and she knows what noise that animal makes. She got more into it than we expected! It was so much fun!

We were excited to see the elephants. Especially the baby elephant.

Jayla was afraid of this elephant. It would make noises and she wasn't so sure about the noises.

We got to ride the carousel for the first time ever. Jayla absolutely loved it! She was a little nervous at first but she warmed right up to it.

We also got to ride on the train. Jayla loved it because she was able to look at all of the animals as we went by.

Does it look like she is having fun?

Of course we had to get a picture of Jayla and the big gorilla... the only problem was that Jayla wasn't too fond of the gorilla.

Jayla had to chase the peacock... hopefully nobody was watching.

The giraffes were one of Jayla's favorite animals at the zoo because she could get so close to them and watch them eat. She loved to try to touch them.

Ahh, wouldn't this be the life? Next to the giraffes, Jayla liked the monkeys the best. They were always doing funny things, swinging around on trees and starring right at us.

Here are a few cute pictures I took of Jayla at the zoo.

This was Jayla at the end of the day. Poor girl... she was so exhausted from all of the fun we had that she couldn't even stay awake to finish her cookie! It was a good day!!

OUTSIDE

I don't think Jayla likes anything better than being outside. We are trying to play outside as much as possible before it gets cold. These are a few of our adventures...

We were playing soccer. Can you tell that she is excited to be outside?

I introduced Jayla to the art of jumping in the leaves. She caught on very fast and has been an expert ever since. She loves the sounds they make. I can't wait until there are more leaves to make a big pile for her to jump in.

We have many different fruit trees in our backyard...Jayla loves the plums and the apples.

Jayla's new favorite word is now "apple." (I'm sure you can guess why.)

She was really excited that she found a toy block to play with.

Jayla looking out the window of her playhouse.

For some reason she kept trying to climb in through the window instead of using the door.

Jayla trying to dig a hole, but not being too successful at it.

Cheesy!!

This was right before we went to the football game. She was so excited to be going to the game...as always. She was also happy that she could wear her hat, which is one of her new passions. This picture completely illustrated Jayla's cute personality.

New Discovery

So we have a kitchen full of cupboards and Jayla never seemed to notice them. We kept wondering when Jayla would finally realize that she can pull things out of the cupboards. She gets into everything else, but for some reason she has seemed to over look the very accessible kitchen cupboards. Well...yesterday was that day...and it has been one mess after another. The only thing is that Jayla is such a GOOD GIRL. I just ask her to put everything back when she is done and she does it! We love you Jayla girl! Oh yes and she found out that she can sit in them too.
