9 Months Old

Here Jayla is trying to suck her thumb

I love those big beautiful eyes with incredibly long eye lashes!

Notice the red knees from Jayla crawling non-stop.

Jayla is growing so big. She is a busy body! She loves to crawl up the stairs, beg for food, yell at the top of her lungs, get into the cupboards and pull everything out, play with the buttons on the T.V., pull all of the candles off the shelf, pull everything out of her toy box, climb up on anything and anyone, chase after balls, walk around all day long(only using one hand), squeal, fake laugh, play in the tub, and her favorite things to play is peek-a-boo and Get You. Get You consists of Jayla crawling as fast as she can to safety (Me) while Michael chases her. the whole time is screaming, squealing and giggling. She gets upset if Michael gets tired of the game before she does and she definitely lets us know that she is not finished yet.

This is Jayla playing "Get You." I'm the one holding the camera so she keeps trying to crawl to me so that I can save her from her dad.

She loves to stare at strangers until they look at her. She still loves to dance to music. She never sits still. We always know when Jayla is awake from her nap when we hear her binky hit the wall. She loves to throw things and to drop things. She also has learned to bite us when she isn't happy about something.... At least she only has two teeth for now. She is a fun baby. There is never a dull moment, and we wouldn't have it any other way. She also loves to dance to any kind of music. We were able to catch this moment on video...

Go BYU!!

We went and saw BYU play New Mexico last night. We went with my sister and her soon to be hubby. It was an entertaining game. The crowd really got into it so we had to put baby earplugs in Jayla's ears. Of course BYU ending up winning.

Jayla loved it!! Especially when music was played. She loved looking at the crowd and she couldn't take her eyes off of the guys playing basketball. For some reason she kept staring at the guy sitting right behind us. She would stare at him until he finally looked at her, then she would squeal and smile right back. She isnt a shy baby. Even though she was starting to get sleepy she refused to go to sleep because she didn't want to miss a thing. She never cried, not even once because she was too intrigued by everything. She is such a good little baby and we had so much fun watching her enjoy it. I think I watched her more than the game.

Intermural Basketball

Michael and his brother Brian are on an intramural team. Brian's wife Emily, Jayla and I went to go watch their game. Michael's team won. It wasn't even a close game. Jayla loved it and kept trying to run out onto the court because she wanted to play with the basketball too. Michael is number 32 and Brian is number 34, or the biggest guy on the court wearing bright blue shorts.

This is Emily, Brian's wife.

Sealing Day Memories

We got this from Jared and Jessica (Michael's brother and his wife) for Christmas. We have enjoyed it so much that we decided to put it on our blog for all to see. Jessica made this herself. She did a really great job!! The second we opened it Michael hung it on the wall. We have so many great memories of this day!! We are so grateful that we are able to be an eternal family. We are so grateful for Jayla's birthmom and birthfamily. They all are truly amazing!

Happy Valentines Day

Jayla's birthmom gave this bib to her, along with many other Valentine gifts. She is always so thoughtful. This shot was taken while she was crawling on my stomach trying to reach the camera. I have a feeling that all of our pictures of Jayla are now going to be action shots since she is always on the move.

Since everyone gets to have candy and chocolates on valentines day we decided to let Jayla have a little fun too. We let her have a couple licks of the lip sucker that Jared and Jessica (Michael's brother) gave to her. She loved it!! This was her first taste of candy. After a few licks we had to hide the lips because she wanted them back.

Michael surprised me with flowers chocolate and a cute little scavenger hunt. He bought me some new brushes that are made out of bamboo and wood. I love them!! I highly recommend them. We just bought them off of the internet. They are supposed to decrease breakage to your hair and they work really well for people who have a tender head. Michael's mom introduced them to me. He got one for me and one for Jayla. Obviously Jayla will have to grow just a little bit more hair before she can use her brush.
