Singing at the Library

At the library every Friday morning the librarians have singing and story time. Jayla and I usually try to go. She loves it!! Her three favorite things in the world are other little kids, books and music. She has a ball. On the way out she likes me to hold her hands so that she can walk. Whenever we pass a little kid we always have to stop so that Jayla can say hi. She loves being out and about experiencing new things. We have a lot of fun taking her different places and watching her explore the new territory.

8 Months old

Wow!! This is what Jayla used to look like. This is how she used to smile....with her mouth wide open. Sometimes she still smiles like that......thank goodness she hasn't grown out of the yet. I absolutely love it. I can't believe how much she has changed already. I'm sad that those days are over, but I'm excited for all of the changes ahead. Little baby Jayla is starting to look like a toddler.

She now gets into everything. She loves to stick her tongue out, blow raspberries, scoot off to see herself clap in the mirror and throw tantrums when she doesn't get her way. She is the happiest baby when surrounded by people. She will be forever social. She loves making faces and playing with anything, especially things that are not toys, like the garbage can. She is very curious and is continually moving. She loves to pull herself up to sit on my lap, although she still needs plenty of help. She loves real food.

Jayla is getting so big. She can wear all of her 12 month clothes. we have a huge pile of clothes that she has already grown out of. She can say DaDa, but she doesn't know what it means yet. She loves to walk around with someone holding her hands. She then tries to kick all of her toys that are on the ground. My favorite is when she bobs her head to music, even when Michael sings to her. We couldn't have asked for a more sweet and fun little baby.

What a Beautiful Girl!!

Birthday Dinner

Happy Birthday Lincoln and Yvonne.

Last Sunday we celebrated Lincoln and Yvonne's birthdays by having dinner at my mom's house. It was a lot of fun. Of course my mom snatched Jayla from us the moment we walked through the door, then my dad wanted a turn. For some reason all of the grandkids so far have been deathly afraid of grandpa. Jayla has been no exception as you can see in the picture. Eventually they do warm up to him, but some reason his voice always makes then cry.

Here my mom is trying to comfort our poor scared Jayla.

Britt is playing her guitar for us and wesley and Vanessa wanted to give it a try.

Funny Girl

Here are some pictures that really capture Jayla's personality. These are some of my favorites. Jayla has been into making funny faces lately and she does a great job with them. You can even some drool in this one. Isn't she so cute!

Here Jayla is with her two favorite things in the world...the remote and her bottle. Notice how both hands are on the remote. Now I have to fight off two people to have control of the remote.

This Jayla and how we are trying to feed her. She opens her mouth wide and then right when we are sticking a mouth full in, she closes her mouth and sticks out her tongue getting food everywhere.

Jayla's favorite thing to do now is to stick out her tongue....all the time, so we were happy when we finally captured it on film after trying for several days.

Wedding Bells

So my sister is getting married in a couple of months so Jayla and I had the pleasure of going shopping with my sister to try on wedding dresses. She actually ended up borrowing a dress from one of my friends. Jayla got all excited when she saw Brittany in her dress. Maybe she will be a girly girl. She loved playing with my sister's puffy slip.

Sweet Jayla Mae

I just thought that these pictures were really cute so I had to put them on the blog. Jayla wore that green outfit to church and everyone thought that she looked like a WHO off of the Grinch. Jayla's birth mom gave her those outfits to her for Christmas. I love how Jayla is trying to shove both the wisk and her tooth brush in her mouth at the same time. She gets sick of her toys so we have to find new things for her to play with. She tries to take off everything that is on her head so it is rare that we can take a picture and she is still wearing her hat.

Christmas at Michael's House

We all had a lot of fun over the Christmas weekend. Here are a few pictures from that weekend. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked. As you can see Jayla was constantly being entertained. We had lots of fun playing different games until 1:00 in the morning. I'll never understand it. We are together all day long, but for some reason the real fun doesn't ever start until I want to go to bed. Since there are so many kids and grandkids there is never a dull moment. I love the chaios.

I thought that this was a priceless moment. Everyone sitting around eating a giant pickle from the biggest person all the way down to little Jayla. Apparently the requirement to be a Johnson is that you have to like pickles.

Here is Jayla. She tried to get anyone and everyone to walk around with her at least 5 times a day and since she is so cute she was very successful in reaching her goal. These are only half of the people that she won over.
